Our Doctors

Dr. Tim Guthrie

Dr. Guthrie attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Vision Science in 1993.  He graduated with honours from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in 1996 and his training included internships at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Jackson State Prison in Jackson, Michigan.

Dr. Guthrie worked with a private ophthalmology practice in Ludington, Michigan for 5 years before joining The Henry Ford Health System where he served as Director of Clinical Services for the Downriver Supervision Center. He opened Guthrie Optometry in June 2012 to serve his community of Riverside and the Windsor/Essex area.  Dr. Guthrie believes in a patient-centered approach, taking the time to listen, explain diagnoses, and empower patients to make informed decisions about their vision and ocular health.

Dr. Guthrie is on the board of directors for the Transition to Betterness charity organization and Windsor Yacht Club.  He is a long-standing member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the Ontario Association of Optometrists.   Outside of the office Dr. Guthrie enjoys golf and travel with his wife Robin.

Dr. Angela Farah

Dr. Angela Farah was born and raised in Windsor and completed her BSc with a major in Medical Sciences at the University of Western Ontario. In 2018, she completed her Optometry degree at Aston University in Birmingham, UK and was certified in Therapeutic Prescribing Agents by Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She went on to gain experience in practices across England as a locum optometrist and is now happily practising in her hometown after living away for ten years.

Dr. Farah enjoys the diversity of full scope optometry and is dedicated to providing thorough and comprehensive eye care to her patients. She is particularly intrigued by how systemic diseases affect the eyes, an interest that drove her to write her dissertation on the ocular manifestations of multiple sclerosis.

In her spare time, Dr. Farah loves spending time outdoors and being active with friends and family. She also enjoys listening to music, learning how to play new instruments and experiencing different cultures through travel.

Dr. Ally Pettit

Dr. Ally Pettit was raised in South Woodslee, Ontario. After spending the last ten years completing her education and the early start of her career, she has finally moved back to serve those near her hometown

Dr. Pettit attended Essex District High School where she played volleyball, basketball, and soccer. She went on to complete her undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor, where she earned her Bachelors of Movement Science in Kinesiology with Honors. She then continued her education at Indiana University to pursue her optometry degree. While studying at Indiana University, Dr. Pettit was selected to be an assistant instructor, teaching clinical techniques and procedures to underclassmen. Upon graduation, Dr. Pettit completed a 13 month post-Doctoral Residency at the Cincinnati Eye Institute, in affiliation with The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Most recently, Dr. Pettit has been providing quality eye care to patients within the Henry Ford health system and has served as adjunct faculty for the Michigan College of Optometry.

When not at work, you’ll likely catch Dr. Pettit spending time outdoors; exploring new trails with her Australian shepard Arlo, husband Gil and their sweetest little addition, five month old son, Laine.
